Seniors First specializes in services for seniors and their families in Placer County. One of their services is a Friendly Visitor program which was created to decrease loneliness and isolation of older adults in the County. The program is staffed by volunteers who are making a difference in a senior’s life for an hour each week.
Tech-Ed Networks has partnered with the Friendly Visitor program and is providing photo identification badges and lanyards for the volunteers as a donation to this valuable community service. Tech-Ed team members attended a Friendly Visitor In-Service meeting and took pictures and created badges for all volunteers at the meeting. A follow-up session is being held to complete the badges for all volunteers.
Betty Powell, manager of the Friendly Visitor program, expressed her gratitude for the donation of the badges, lanyards and time of the Tech-Ed Networks employees. “I so appreciate all of the work you have done and the generous contributions that Tech-Ed Networks has made. The identification badges will make a real difference to our volunteers who can now easily identify themselves to others when they are with a senior. The lanyards that the badges hang on are a wonderful way of getting the “Seniors First” name out in the community. Thank you so much to the Tech-Ed team that created the badges for us!”
